FiltaPlus dual vessel series biofiltration systems use a combination of biological and carbon filtration technologies for the control of odourous sewer and industry gases

FiltaPlusTM hybrid biofilters provide the highest level of emission and odour abatement. The two-stage treatment train complements the latest technology in deep bed biofiltration emission and odour treatment. The system consists of a first stage biofiltration vessel followed by a second stage carbon filtration vessel.

This highly engineered, efficient, low maintenance and cost-effective odour control system is designed to reduce odorous emissions by over 99.5%. Additionally it can reduce corrosion of sewer infrastructure.

The dual vessel configuration uses separate vessels for the biological and carbon filtration components of the process. Depending on site space restrictions and flow requirements, the dual vessel design can be more cost effective than other solutions.

The custom configuration of media composition within the separate vessels enables Bioaction’s experts to reduce odour profiles by more than 99.5% of Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S). If a gas profile exists for multiple fugitive odourous gases that need to be removed, Bioaction can formulate mixtures of media to deal with high levels of other odorous gases such as Ammonia, Mercaptans and Dimethyl Sulphide. VOC’s can also be addressed in these systems as part of the media composition mixture to give an extremely good end result.

Bioaction’s experts will assess the odour profile for any given site and propose a mix of homogeneous organic micropore filtration media derived from a highly renewable resource and combinations of carbon media in the form of “granular vapour carbon” and “caustic impregnated vapour carbon”.

The modular design of Bioaction’s FiltaPlusTM enables it to be positioned in relatively constrained spaces in comparison to other systems. The modular design is constructed on an engineered skid base to enable rapid installation and commissioning, typically within 1-3 days of delivery to site.
